BASIC HORSESHOEING COURSE

The Basic Horseshoeing Course is a two week course that provides a sound basic foundation of horseshoeing skills. It is designed for the person who plans to shoe part-time while maintaining his present employment or attending college.

The intent of this course is to teach you to shoe your own horses and perhaps build up a part-time clientele. Many graduates of the Basic Horseshoeing Course have built their clientele into a full-time business; however, we do not recommend this. If you want to be a professional horseshoer, we would like to have you in school for at least eight weeks – longer if possible.

For those of you who are on vacation from work, rest assured that upon successful completion of the two week course, you will have learned sound basic horseshoeing.

You may return to school to continue your education at any time.

Upon graduation from the Basic Horseshoeing Course, if you work at shoeing horses, you will be able to turn out the same high quality work you learned at school at the rate of one horse shod per hour within one month’s time.

REQUIRED SUPPLIES FOR BASIC HORSESHOEING COURSE: Students must have hand tools, text book and manual. The required hand tools and text are itemized in the 2-week Required Tools. If you already have tools of your own you may bring them. If not then PLEASE buy your tools from us here in our office. The reason we ask this is that we have found that almost all of the students who buy their tools elsewhere end up buying the wrong tools to the extent that they are not even usable, leaving them having to purchase new tools anyway. We do have economy brand tools as well as the very best tools, and all are at very competitive prices.  You will be given your course manual when you arrive.

The Tool List is in Adobe PDF format. You can obtain the Adobe Reader free of charge at: Adobe.com
Please un-check the anti-virus offer prior download if you already have an antivirus program installed.
